Adored in his country, less known in Europe, Dorival Caymmi (1914-2008) is one of the most important singers and composers in the history of Brazilian popular music. Major figures such as João Gilberto, Gilberto Gil, or Caetano Veloso have praised him and claimed his influence loudly. The elegant lyricist Jacques Duvall (who has written a lot for Alain Chamfort, Lio, Jane Birkin, or Dani) conceived this album project in which his eternal accomplice Lio performs twelve songs by Dorival Caymmi.
