Forever

Description

Forever is an album that was written and recorded one track at a time with my husband Coley. After discarding about twenty songs I had written over the past few years, I wanted to get to the heart of things. I had a great conversation with a friend on the phone, and she mentioned that she just wasn't sure where I was at. I realized that I wasn't really sure either. A few years after 2020 were hazy, and the pieces seemed to be just starting to come together. I had fallen in love, I got married, I had a dog, a house... things I had always dreamed of. But it took me a while to accept them as my life. For a time, I felt like a stranger watching myself stumble through everything, and I was constantly criticizing myself to the point that I could barely leave the house for a while. But then I realized that my life was passing me by, and the love I was living in needed a presence to be accepted. I started doing the little things you have to do to be there for people: listening, growing, changing, writing... stepping out of my own problems. Time flies, and I want to be here for all of it rather than getting lost in my thoughts all the time. My love is eternal. When I was a child, I would tell my mom and dad, "I love you forever and ever," then I neurotically changed it to "I love you forever and ever and it's true and I mean it"... because I wanted to make sure they knew how serious I was! I still feel that way when I say "I love you" to anyone, and I hope it shows on this album. I love you all forever!
