Membre depuis plus de quinze ans de ZOOID de HENRY THREADGILL, le guitariste (également producteur de STEVE COLEMAN, SAM RIVERS, MIKE LADD, GREGORY PORTER) s'est aussi signalé aux côtés de JOE LOVANO, MYRA MELFORD, GREG OSBY, WADADA LEO SMITH et BUTCH MORRIS. Last Desert is inspired by a marathon across four continents (Four Deserts), and more specifically the last section that crosses Antarctica, and translates the austere beauty of the landscape as well as the extreme concentration of those who take this route.
