Songs We Sang In Our Dreams

Description

Let It Come Down is an idea that has been percolating in Kramer's mind for over two decades. Nearly 22 years after the closure of his celebrated Shimmy-Disc label, Let It Come Down's debut album, 'Songs We Sang In Our Dreams', marks the return of one of the 20th century's leading New York indie labels. It is also Kramer's first individual collaboration since Bongwater went adrift 30 years ago. Originally conceived as a one-man studio band called TIME, everything changed in 2016 when Kramer met singer Xan Tyler (Mad Professor/Mission Control, Technique, Orinoko, GlassHouse). After succumbing to her vocal timbre and producing an EP for her in Scotland, Kramer invited her to be the voice for a long-conceived solo musical project. The result is ethereal, combining the most introspective compositions of Kramer's career with Xan Tyler's magnificent vocal performances. Mixed on the same Universal Audio '610' console that Brian Wilson used to create Smile, and Love used for Forever Changes. Fans of Kramer's latest solo work on John Zorn's Tzadik Records label, as well as his many productions for artists such as Galaxie 500, Low, and Daniel Johnston, will blindly lose themselves in the obscure labyrinths of Let It Come Down's album 'Songs We Sang In Our Dreams'. The album cover is signed by renowned American pop-art artist Ed Ruscha, and the vinyl is offered in translucent green and includes a download card.
