The fact that Les Rats were associated with/compared to Parabellum was almost inevitable: same label (Gougnaf), same lyricist (Géant Vert), same style (punk rock), and same rebellious spirit. And above all, they were representative of an era, a feeling, and an emotion. And perhaps that’s where the comparison to early La Souris Déglinguée hits home. Les Rats became (despite themselves) the voice of an audience. They offered no solutions, showed no emergency exits, but hearing and singing along with them to “Poubelle Trouve Un Job” (Dustbin, Get a Job), “Les Jeunes Loups” (The Young Wolves), “C’est Des Bobards” (It’s All Lies) felt good. May this re-release, with enhanced sound, continue to do just as much good!!
