STORY OF BAXTER WILLIAMS (vinyl)

Description

American pop/rock/variety group, living in France and formed by twin brothers Steve and Jim McMains, Tom Arena (the main songwriters), not to mention the addition of the extraordinary William Sheller (composer of their big hit 'My Year Is A Day,' among others), and finally Andy Cornelius on drums. The group formed in 1966 under the name The Sentries, then called The Beloved Ones in the USA, whose French translation became 'Les Irrésistibles' for our country and all other French-speaking countries. In 1968, the 45 rpm single 'My Year Is A Day' topped the charts for several weeks and ranked among the best-selling singles that year. This was followed by the 45 rpm single 'Lands Of Shadow,' released the same year, also composed by William Sheller, which also ranked in the top 10 of the charts and best-selling singles. In 1969, their first album 'The Story Of Baxter Williams' arrived, featuring the two A-sides of the 45 rpm singles plus 10 new songs. The reception and sales were immediately successful. Here is the re-release of this wonderful album 'The Story Of Baxter Williams' enhanced with 2 bonus tracks, which are the B-sides of the first two singles and were not selected for the album at the time.
