"Il est six heures ici et midi à New-York" recorded in February 1979 is distributed by Barclay (under license) in the spring of the same year. Léo Ferré then has "on the job" the orchestration of so many texts that he accumulates an impressive amount of unpublished works. The year 1977 saw the release of two new records "La musica mi prende come l'amore" and "La frime". In addition, Léo Ferré is working on the creation of a Baudelaire album for which 19 poems have been set to music. Only "L'examen de minuit" and "Je te donne ces vers" (in "On n'est pas sérieux quand on a 17 ans") have been published to date. Pressed for time, he abandons the project of a double album of 18 tracks initially scheduled for the fall of 1978. Léo Ferré will therefore focus all his attention and energy on the creation of this collection of six unpublished texts on the record, two of which have been in his repertoire for five years, "Ma vie est un slalom" and "Il est six heures ici et midi à New-York". Once again Léo Ferré meets the expectations of his audience with magnificent compositions dressed in sober and colorful orchestrations. The steely gaze displayed by Léo Ferré on the cover of the album speaks volumes about his determination at the time.
