Description

Pianist par excellence both in recital and concerto, Leif Ove Andsnes has decided to revitalize the relationship between the audience and the artist by imagining a piano recital during which the eye would be captivated just as much as the ear. Leif Ove enlisted the collaboration of a young South African video creator, Robin Rhode. Totally foreign to the classical universe, close to the world of "tags" and spontaneous creation, a creator of strong and disconcerting video images, fully invested in contemporary art, Robin Rhode entered the classical universe with a fresh, new, modern, and unbiased eye. Immediately, these 2 artists set about designing a concert spectacle. The repertoire? An absolute masterpiece of descriptive music, the famous Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky. The images? On stage, Leif Ove is surrounded by fixed panels on which creations by Robin Rhode are projected, designed in close connection with the emotion conveyed by the music.
