After the release of his first album, LEE BANNON solidified his collaboration with Joey Bada$$, produced Mick Jenkins' new single, and even planned one of his US tours with Trash Talk and Ratking. Afterward, he returned to the studio solo to produce his new album. His second LP on Ninja Tune, *Pattern of Excel*, again signals a shift away from his usual domains and towards his own vision of the future. The burst breaks and growling bass lines of his first album give way to a thoughtful exploration of different soundscapes.
