The eponymous debut album by LE REVEIL DES TROPIQUES, a new Parisian quintet formed by members from diverse musical backgrounds (noise-rock, post-rock) and numerous bands (OISEAUX TEMPETE, ONE SECOND RIOT, CASSE GUEULE, TESTA ROSSA, ULAN BATOR, LOOKING FOR JOHN G, etc.) After a few months of existence, deciding that the future of music would be dreamlike and psychedelic, the band isolated themselves for two days and three nights for long improvisation sessions that led to the recording of their first album. Composed of nine tracks of varying lengths, the result oscillates between long experimental passages with kraut-rock accents and aggressive build-ups reminiscent of CAN, MOGWAI, or PINK FLOYD, and more noisy and concise tracks that lean towards early SONIC YOUTH.
