On her album "Winter", harpist Lavinia Meijer combines compositions by Max Richter, Philip Glass and Nils Frahm, among others, to tell a story about this unique season and its changes due to climate catastrophe. The album also contains two compositions by Lavinia Meijer and collaborations with violinist Nadia Sirota, the vocal ensemble Wishful Singing and the Alma Quartet.Lavinia Meijer developed the concept of "Winter" from the piece "Open Window", which she had already written during the production of the previous album "Are You Still Somewhere?" in winter 2020. She directly associated the "cold" of the pandemic lockdown and the alienation it causes in society with the season and the effects of climate change on nature. Subsequently, she began researching and gathering works on this theme. In total, 18 pieces were thus assembled.
