After graduating from the Birmingham Conservatoire in composition, she wrote her first lyrics and recorded a demo that caught the attention of British manager and producer Kwame Kwaten (a member of the group D-Influence, who have produced for Jay-Z and Mick Jagger, and who opened for Michael Jackson). He encouraged her to release her first two albums \"Sing to the Moon\" (2013) and \"The Dreaming Room\" (2016). Both projects received multiple nominations, including the Mercury Prize, the BRITS, the Ivor Novello Awards, the MOBO Awards, and entered the top charts in a dozen countries (including France).
