Heaven 2 - Vinyle Transparent

Description

Lillie West has always composed her music to satisfy her constant need to move, but as she developed a growing desire to settle down, she realized with surprise that stability could be a source of creativity. This evolving tension largely fuels her new album under the name Lala Lala, Heaven 2. For many years, West lived in Chicago, where she launched her Lala Lala project as part of the city's independent scene, releasing several albums under the Sub Pop label: Hardly Art. These albums, The Lamb and I Want the Door to Open, were the powerful statements of a curious artist: catchy pop-rock songs about being stuck in life's ups and downs, the struggle to stay sober, leaving the city... West left Chicago to seek something else and, in doing so, wrote her new album, Heaven 2. She produced the album with Melina Duterte of Jay Som, who brings a strong power to West's warm, rounded voice. West says the relationship between the two was telepathic. This resulted in a bold and confident album that West says would be perfect for boxing. Duterte and West played almost all the instruments on the album, with some notable guests, such as Sen Morimoto on saxophone on the opening track, "Car Anymore," and a bridge written by Aaron Maine of Porches on the title track, "Heaven 2."
