The soprano and the countertenor are ideally accompanied by Claudio Cavina at the helm of La Venexiana (let's recall their memorable recording of the opera Artemisia by Cavalli, with Glossa). Cavalli, who worked in Venice around the 1650s with the best librettists, is undoubtedly one of the composers who best expressed the range of romantic feelings with their richness and complexity, their sensuality and liveliness, from tragic depth to frivolous comedy: his generous series of operas had immense artistic and commercial success, and deservedly so! The influence of Cavalli, commensurate with his talent, immediately reached baroque composers as distant as Rameau, Lully, Handel, or Purcell. Rich in five duos as wonderfully intense as the arias, the ariosos, and the recitar cantando, this new Glossa recording reveals the vocal splendor of the two soloists, the Venetian Semenzato and the Lombard Pe (who debuted with Glossa with \"The Medici Castrato\"). The disc also includes one of the vocal genres of which Cavalli can be proud to have \"launched\": the lament, represented here by \"Lassa, che fò de Statira.\" Completing this recording, the specialist Olivier Lexa outlines in his essay a fascinating sketch of Cavalli's life and his operatic inspiration.","brand":"La Venexiana","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57726377656664,"sku":null,"price":20160513.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/la-venexiana_sospiri-damore-duo-airs-dopera_2016_disco-virgin-music-group","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
