After an 8-year absence, Kyo returns with "L'Equilibre": we have to face the facts, French groups who have sold over 2 million records are rare. Kyo is one of them. In the early 2000s, Kyo swept all before them... Remember: we even talked about Kyomania! After so much success and a relentless pace of writing, recording, promotion, and concerts, Kyo decided in 2006 to take a break to recharge their batteries, taking time to live and try other experiences. Some formed side projects (Empyr), wrote or produced for others... (Johnny Hallyday, Jenifer, Alizée, Amel Bent, Emmanuel Moire, Le Roi Soleil, Cléopâtre, 1789, Volo...) Nearly 10 years after the release of their last album, they have come, they are all here; none of the four wanted to miss the reunion. It must be said that at the main table of French artists, their seats remained desperately empty. No one took their place, or no one was able to. This way of making melodic and effective pop songs belongs only to them. In 2014, Kyo returns to create new memories for us, and we should be delighted. What could they have been thinking when they met producer Mark Plati (David Bowie, The Cure, Gaëtan Roussel) in the studio for the first time in 10 years? What could they have said to each other for the fruit of this reunion to sound so right? It's all a question of balance, probably... With "Le Graal", the first single from the album, we already have a song that hits the mark. A fatal, irresistible, clear, neat & precise hook. "I searched for the grail, eternal youth, botox in my veins," sings Benoît. What if Kyo was that grail all along! Finding Kyo again, listening to them again, is remembering that their songs have irrevocably marked our path, like so many smiles, kisses, and faces encountered. Their choruses mattered...
