Kitty White was a renowned singer who performed jazz, blues, gospel and Negro spirituals. She recorded many critically acclaimed albums for labels such as Mercury, EmArcy, Roulette and World Pacific, and also sang on several film soundtracks, including that of "King Creole" with Elvis Presley.This box set brings together for the first time her many singles, unreleased since their release in the 1950s. Among them are her hits "A Teenage Prayer", "Paradise", "Cy Me a River", "Winoweh" and "I'm Gonna Be a Fool Next Monday", as well as her cover of "Return to Paradise" for the film's soundtrack.As a bonus, there is a rare unreleased demo of "I Saw a Robin Today", set to music on a poem by Lela, Ginger Rogers' mother.The whole has been restored in exceptional digital quality by Jasmine Records.
