To mark the 80th birthday of Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Decca is releasing a 23CD box set of her complete recordings for Decca and Philips, enriched with numerous sacred music and opera recordings she made for these labels as well as for Deutsche Grammophon.An exceptional interpreter of Mozart and Richard Strauss, her operatic repertoire ranges from Verdi to Bernstein's 'West Side Story', via Puccini and Johann Strauss. She is featured in the essential 'Chants d'Auvergne' by Joseph Canteloube accompanied by Jeffrey Tate and the English Chamber Orchestra, in sacred music with the 'St Paul's Cathedral Choir' and the 'Mormon Tabernacle Choir', as well as in a collection of sacred works ranging from Bach to Karl Jenkins.With Nelson Riddle and André Previn, she also demonstrated her talent as a jazz interpreter. Her Christmas album 'Christmas with Kiri' concludes the edition, which reproduces the original album covers.
