With four albums already to her name, Kinga Glyk returns to Warner Music with a new opus titled "Feelings," featuring resolutely funky and groovy sounds. The Polish bassist delights us with playing that is both virtuosic and sensitive, boasting a rich palette of nuances. Her music intimately reflects her personality and emotions: "When I was a child, I was drawn to the bass because it gave me a uniquely powerful voice. [...] Its sounds became my own language. Thanks to it, I can express my feelings with greater intensity."
Kinga Glyk wrote most of the tracks on her new album freely and expansively, with a great sense of detail. Between brilliant solos and catchy beats, rock explosions and vibrant ballads, her energetic compositions directly touch the listener. The young musician deploys a rich musical imagination, giving new impetus to the electric bass, an instrument too often relegated to the background. Among the many guests, Brett Williams, keyboardist for Marcus Miller, lends a hand on three tracks.
