What was striking at the time was the maturity of the artist's writing, who was barely 17, evoking his disillusionment and despair. This was all accentuated by his rough and deep voice with a strong Cockney accent, and his unique compositions carried by sparse arpeggios.\nThe following year, he took his girlfriend to the Midi Festival without telling his parents, and performed his first concert there as King Krule. A wider audience then became acquainted with his world at the crossroads of jazz, dubstep, and blues rock, music that some journalists would describe as \"blues wave.\" Following this, the American label True Panther released his first EP, featuring the irresistible \"The Noose Of Jah City,\" which allowed him to perform other sold-out concerts all over the world!\nFor this first album, King Krule, as usual, wrote alone and brilliantly transcribed his emotions into music—often aggressive feelings, a contained rage expressed both in his lyrics and his voice.
