Born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1951, he later moved to California. He started playing the blues in the 1960s, guided by figures such as George "Harmonica" Smith, Luther Tucker, and Pee Wee Crayton. His style is influenced by harmonica players like Slim Harpo and Lazy Lester. In 1974, he moved to Austin, Texas, and became the leader of a band in Minneapolis. In Austin, he formed the band The Fabulous Thunderbirds with guitarist Jimmie Vaughan. Still active with The Fabulous Thunderbirds, KIM WILSON offers us his new studio album here.
