Demon Records is delighted to announce the vinyl reissue, for the first time in over 35 years, of Kim Wilde's classic albums on MCA. Now available on bright pink vinyl and, for the first time, as a picture disc, "Another Step", Kim's fifth studio album, originally released in November 1986, is now available. It includes the hit "You Keep Me Hangin' On", number one in the United States and number two in the United Kingdom for two weeks (kept from the top spot by "Take My Breath Away (Love Theme From Top Gun)" by Berlin). Following in the charts were "Another Step (Closer To You)" (No. 6 in the UK), a duet with Junior Giscombe, and "Say You Really Want Me" (No. 29 in the UK), the latter also featured on the soundtrack of the action comedy film "Running Scared" (1986). "Schoolgirls" was released as a single in Australia and continental Europe. Both formats now include the bonus track "Victim", originally only present on the cassette and CD versions of the album. The presence of British soul singer Junior testifies to the more varied influences of Another Step, where Kim moves away from the synth-pop sound that characterized her early albums to introduce elements of R&B and rock. This new direction is reflected in particular by the use of a brass section on the upbeat track "Hit Him" and the presence of a trio of female backing vocalists on the ballad "How Do You Want My Love". While Ricky Wilde retained most of the production, the technical team was enriched with new talent, including Rod Temperton (hit songwriter for Heatwave, Michael Jackson and George Benson, among others), Richard James Burgess (formerly of Landscape, then producer for Spandau Ballet, New Edition and Five Star), as well as Guy Fletcher of Dire Straits on keyboards.
