The absolute punk icon, Kim Gordon, guitarist, bassist, and singer of the legendary band Sonic Youth, is finally releasing her first solo album on the Matador label, No Home Record. Formed in 1981, Sonic Youth became one of the most influential rock bands in the world, inspiring groups ranging from Nirvana to Pavement. Following the band's breakup, she formed Body/Head, an experimental duo with Bill Nace. It is only today that Kim Gordon is launching her solo career with this debut album, No Home Record, produced by Justin Raisen (Angel Olsen, Yves Tumor, Charli XCX,...), recorded at Sphere Ranch in Los Angeles, and named after a film by Chantal Akerman, No Home Movie. Listening to this album, one might wonder why she waited nearly 40 years to release it; less experimental than her side projects, No Home Record is a complete success!
