Sixth album by Killswitch Engage, a band from Massachusetts that helped popularize metalcore (a mix of hardcore and melodic singing), "Disarm the Descent" marks the grand return of Jesse Leach to vocals. Jesse had left the band for personal reasons after a second album that became cult, "Alive or Just Breathing" (2002). "Disarm the Descent" takes the band into calculated risks while maintaining what made it unique. After 4 million albums sold worldwide, a nomination for the Grammy Awards (the equivalent of our Victoires de la Musique) in 2005, two gold records in the United States (over 500,000 copies sold) for "The End of Heartache" and "As Daylight Dies," an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live (a very popular television show in the USA), and numerous concerts around the world (Ozzfest, Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos, Mayhem tours, Reading, Leeds, Download festivals, and several world tours headlining), Killswitch Engage still oscillates between melodic death metal and hardcore.
