Sundowner

Description

"During the winter of 2017, I returned to live in my hometown of Kansas City. This return was sudden and unexpected, just as I was finalizing the writing of my 2019 album Oh My God. I bought a Tascam 424 four-track to finish Oh My God, but to my great surprise, this new equipment, instead of helping me finish an album, inspired me to create another one: Sundowner. These new songs were created quickly, without embellishments. In January 2019, I contacted my friend and producer Brad Cooke to help me recreate what I had conceived at home. We chose to record in Texas. Brad plays bass and keyboards but encouraged me to play the other instruments: guitar, drums, mellotron, and harmonium." Kevin Morby
