Kennedy Mann, an indie singer-songwriter and the frontwoman of dream-pop band Highnoon, is an emerging artist in Philadelphia’s DIY scene, where she’s become known for her poignant lyricism, tender vocals, and sharp melodic sensibility. Combining the analog sounds of dream pop, indie folk, and slowcore, Kennedy Mann’s compositions hit you right in the gut and linger like a bittersweet memory. Kennedy’s journey as a songwriter began with Highnoon’s debut album, Semi Sweet, a project comprised of self-penned pop-rock songs. As she continued writing, she quickly amassed a collection of demos that felt too intimate and singular for the traditional rock band format.
