{"product_id":"keleketla_keleketla_2020_pia","title":"Keleketla!","description":"Keleketla! is a collaborative project that spans from Johannesburg to London, via Lagos, Los Angeles, and West Papua. It took shape during a musical encounter between the English duo Coldcut and a delegation of South African musicians, including guitarist Sibusile Xaba, percussionist Thabang Tabane, and rapper Yugen Blakrok. Building on these initial sessions, the album was enriched by contributions from other first-rate musicians, including the late Tony Allen, Anglo-Nigerian musician Dele Sosimi, who began his career with Fela's Egypt 80, the pioneering spoken word group The Watts Prophets, the celebrated Brooklyn-based afrobeat orchestra Antibalas, and West Papuan activist Benny Wenda; as well as the best of the new English jazz scene. This meeting between jazz-influenced artists whose music is imbued with spirituality resulted in a forward-looking album where gqom beats (this house-inspired musical style that developed in Durban at the beginning of the decade) blend with activist chants and live Afrobeat percussion. Keleketla! means \"response\" in the sense of an answer to a call, and this title is a direct reference to the project's goal: to create a musical territory from multiple recording sessions, from one continent to another.","brand":"Keleketla!","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":55304248033624,"sku":null,"price":20200724.0,"currency_code":"EUR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0898\/4943\/0360\/files\/5054429136579_f566419a-ef05-4c56-b5c8-a6596265424a.jpg?v=1772662085","url":"https:\/\/vinyles.com\/en\/products\/keleketla_keleketla_2020_pia","provider":"Vinyles.com","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
