Bordeaux Concert is a valuable record of Keith Jarrett's last European tour in 2016. Each of Jarrett's solo concerts during this period has its own character, and the Bordeaux concert particularly highlights the lyrical dimension of the pianist's style.
During this entirely improvised suite, full of surprises and refined discoveries, the music unfolds very naturally, giving the impression of opening up with sensitivity to a deeply moving form of intimacy. In his review of the concert, the critic from Le Monde wrote that he found echoes of the famous Köln Concert and Bremen-Lausanne albums in the flow of the music, and waxed lyrical about the beauty and irresistible allure of its long improvised passages, "creating a community of listening, on the verge of silence, an awareness of a time beyond the noise and weariness of the world."
