The transformation of history into myth renders personal experiences universal, a process at the heart of Russian producer Yana Kedrina's music, known as Kedr Livanskiy. On her fifth album, *Myrtus Myth*, she offers an experimental pop journey inspired by personal and collective mythologies, blending esotericism with narrative depth. With *Myrtus Myth*, she draws parallels with her second album, *Ariadna*, while expanding her sonic palette with producer Flaty, known for his futuristic, genre-defying work. Together, they transcend dance music structures by incorporating live instruments and influences ranging from vaporwave to Kate Bush. Album highlights include "Anna," a Fleetwood Mac-inspired pop elegy for a lost friend, and "Purple Sadness," where crunchy synths evoke early 2010s cloud rap.
