Starting with covers from the repertoire for 20 years, Kaz discovered a talent for songwriting through the poems she secretly wrote. These poems became her own lyrics when she began composing melodies that were running through her head. Known mainly for ballads like "Because You Loved Me" and "Lipstick and Cocaine" (later renamed "One More Fight"), these songs quickly found an audience upon their release. An eclectic audience: young, old, male, female, English-speaking or not... Everyone is touched by her tracks, which are the hallmark of this unique Northern Irish artist. But Kaz's world is also made up of important blues and soul references, guitar riffs, and legendary stage performances. She thus established her name and voice on the Irish scene, then in Europe after winning the European Blues Challenge in 2017. Contacted by the French label Dixiefrog, Kaz released "My Life and I" in 2022. An anthology of 17 tracks that introduced her to the French public, who had already adopted her in 2018 through a series of concerts and festival appearances. In January 2023, Kaz Hawkins turned 50, an age she never thought she would reach, and that is why she wanted to make this entire year a special celebration of this event and this exceptional life. And what could be more exceptional than the release of a new album with new compositions? That is how "Until We Meet Again" came about, an album in the image of its creator, full of bright colors and positive vibrations, created for all those who struggle, to help them find the strength to fight and survive. A unique project made of touching ballads, gospel tracks, rock guitar solos, and even a nod to her home country thanks to the addition of Irish sounds in the final mix. With her eyes fixed on this new chapter, Kaz Hawkins offers us a huge burst of her so contagious laughter.
