Monteverdi - Erinnerungen
Description
In the 1600s, no other composer exerted such a diverse and lasting influence on the history of composition as Claudio Monteverdi. His wealth of musical ideas, such as the ostinato bass or the lament bass with its four descending notes, has been a source of inspiration ever since. The new album by Capella de la Torre "Monteverdi: Memories" highlights Monteverdi's artistic development in his works. Based on Monteverdi's own carefully curated publications like the "VIII secular Madrigal Book" (1638) and the sacred "Selva morale et spirituale" (1641), which he published at the end of his life, Capella de la Torre emphasize his musical ideas from his twenty-year career as a court musician in Mantua to his nearly thirty years of religious service in Venice. Works for a large ensemble such as "Beatus Vir" and "Confitebor tibi Domine" are heard in combination with pieces for smaller ensembles like "Zefiro Torna", "Ballo de ingrat" and "Tempo la Cetra". Throughout the program, Monteverdi's distinctive "walking bass" figures have resurfaced in 20th-century jazz, blues, and pop. Thus, Capella de la Torre explores Monteverdi's life's work, with its various dates of origin and styles.Buy Monteverdi - Erinnerungen at the best price
