KARPATT'S CULT ALBUM ON VINYL FOR THE FIRST TIME! "Dans le caillou", "to play it for all those who had smiled at us sometimes and lent us their beds other times," is a polished little pebble that tells us stories, those of others which are also a little bit ours, and gives pride of place to light, nostalgic or serious lyrics that swing to decidedly French-sounding music in which gypsy jazz and swing components are judiciously integrated without overdoing it. For the record, they laid the acoustic foundation of this little pebble in a troglodyte cave and engraved "19 songs that speak of childhood, girls, struggles, brotherhood, and music" on it. We can even add that they also speak of love and little drinks. And it's a pretty little pebble. Because Karpatt is about lyrics, real ones, in French, as the greats of French chanson from Brassens to Vian knew how to do.
