In 1979, a few months after his election, His Holiness John Paul II chose the composer Jean-Pierre Stora for the music to accompany the poems he had written when he was still called Karol Wojtyla, with a view to their first release on record. At that time, a Polish version with actors Gustaw Holoubek and Aleksandra Kurczab, and an Italian version with Giulietta Masina and Romolo Valli, had been recorded. Today, with the same music, now approved by His Holiness, the French version of these poems is being released.
