En listening to "Flying Like Eagles," an episode from the novel "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac or a scene from the movie "Easy Rider" may come to mind. And if that’s the case, it’s because the starting point of this album is traditional American roots music: partly inspired by the Amerindian heritage, plus three classic songs that are also imbued with that same spirit of authenticity and freedom. The origin of the main protagonists of this album may, however, be surprising as these two guitarists are not from the southern states of the United States, but from Scandinavia. And yet, there is no contradiction: Kalle Kalima, a Finn, had already developed a total passion for traditional American folk music while he was still a teenager. Knut Reiersrud has demonstrated throughout his life that Norwegians also have the blues. After being discovered by Buddy Guy and Otis Rush at the age of 18, the United States became his musical home. On this album, we observe the perfect complementarity of guitarists Kalima and Reiersrud - one comes from jazz and rock, the other from blues and world music.
