CARRYING ON

Description

Canadian duo Kacy & Clayton offers timeless folk music. Kacy and Clayton's music is inextricably linked to the place where they grew up. The hills, barns, and isolation of the region are found in these songs, with the bittersweet recognition that this music has taken them far from home. Carrying On follows Strange Country and The Siren's Song, both of which received global acclaim. For Carrying On, Clayton cites as influences: Bobbie Gentry's The Delta Sweete, Hoyt Axton's My Griffin Is Gone, Cajun fiddle music, and the steel guitar of Ralph Mooney, who played on several records that defined Bakersfield country music in the 1950s. The album is once again produced by Jeff Tweedy of Wilco and Uncle Tupelo, at his Loft studio in Chicago.
