Kacimi locked himself away for three days in September 2024 at Christian Hierro's Back To Mono studio in Lyon for a live session. Accompanied by his band, La Mécréance, this new album was recorded on an 8-track tape recorder under live concert conditions, with one microphone per musician and an ambient pair to capture the combo's energy and intensity. Using exceptional tube preamps—Telefunken V71, V72, V76—and vintage ribbon microphones to get as close to reality as possible, Kacimi's new 9-track album, "Mauvaise," takes the form of a garage sonic epic where "fuzz" guitars play a central role. Kacimi offers a selection of new tracks as well as some familiar pieces from his live repertoire. After numerous group experiences over the past twenty years across many albums, formations, and concerts (The Rebels of Tijuana, Le Roi Angus, ...), KACIMI released his first solo album "Cookies & Motoriders" in 2015, followed by "Gyrophare" in 2020, "Couronne d’Ephémères" in 2023, and "Panache" in 2024. These four albums have received critical acclaim (Rock & Folk, Rolling Stone, Les Inrockuptibles, Shindig, RTS, FIP, France Inter...). Interspersed with various singles ("Décroche," "Il fait si chaud ce soir," "Les Rois"...) and numerous collaborations since 2020 (Lionel Limiñana, Nick Wheeldon, Alexis Fugain, Blot, L’Eclair, Joël Virgel, Audrey K...). KACIMI's music plunges us, through a contemporary and modern lens, into the heart of a French sixties pop that is at once cinematic, yéyé, beat, and poetic, blending psychedelic rhythm n' blues, garage rock n’roll with timeless romantic ballads. Having signed various music for series, commercials, and events in recent years (Emily in Paris, You’re The Worst, Orangina, Cannes Film Festival...), KACIMI manages the Le Pop Club Records label, through which he has released nearly 80 references (Le Superhomard, Nick Wheeldon, Wendy Martinez...) and has specialized in recent years in French film music with vinyl reissues of "Coup de Tête," "Les Tontons Flingueurs," "Un Singe en Hiver," "Le Magnifique."
