Description

When conceiving this new cycle of songs, Julien Bensé delved back into the writings of some of his intellectual and life mentors. "I wanted to pay tribute to the authors who shaped my life's ethics," he explains, citing, haphazardly, Epicurus, Lucretius, Pascal, Camus, Montaigne, Spinoza, and Nietzsche. A synthesis of the musical atmospheres of his two previous albums, the synthetic and understated folk of *L'Odyssée* (published by his label) was recorded by the artist alone in his home studio, a new laboratory for him, for the increasing number of other artists who turn to his pen (Pomme, Laura Cahen...), cinema, and theatre. The production encourages the listener to immerse themselves body and soul in a literate music that demands active and attentive listening.
