Only Lovers Left Alive Ost

Description

THE ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK TO JIM JARMUSCH'S FILM COMPOSED BY HIS BAND SQÜRL AND JOZEF VAN WISSEM. BAROQUE LUTE, ELECTRIC GUITARS & SOUND EFFECTS FORM A UNIQUE CINEMATIC TAPESTRY.The original soundtrack for Jim Jarmusch's film, Only Lovers Left Alive, is a collaboration between SQÜRL (Jim Jarmusch, Carter Logan and Shane Stoneback) and Dutch lutenist Jozef Van Wissem. It mirrors the distinct textures of Detroit and Tangier, connecting ancient and modern sounds of the territory, intertwined and timeless. The film's album was originally released worldwide in 2014, and quickly earned the band the Cannes Soundtrack Award from a consortium of film and music critics. Over the following years, it remained a favorite of critics and fans, who continued to track down the few existing copies. In this soundtrack, the pre-baroque lute weaves its way into 21st-century guitar grain, heavy rhythms, Moroccan percussion, synth basses, field recordings, and many other sound effects, creating a broad cinematic tapestry. Singer Madeline Follin (Cults) appears on the reinterpretation of Wanda Jackson's hit "Funnel of Love". Also featured is the dominant voice of Zola Jesus, rising crescendo on Van Wissem's "In Templum Dei". Not to mention Yasmine Hamdan's intimate and evocative "Hal", recorded on the film set and mixed by SQÜRL.
