Leigh Rock Festival 1979

Description

New pressing, limited to 500 copies on red vinyl. Joy Division live at the Leigh Rock Festival in 1979. The sleeve features unreleased images from the Leigh festival. The Leigh Rock and Music Festival was a three-day mini-festival co-promoted by Zoo Records and Factory Records, held in Leigh on 25, 26, and 27 August 1979. Factory gave the event the catalogue number Fac 15 and the title "Zoo Meets Factory Half-way". The bill included A Certain Ratio, Joy Division, Crawling Chaos, The Teardrop Explodes, OMD and Echo and the Bunnymen. The event was named as such because the town of Leigh is halfway between Liverpool (Zoo's home) and Factory. The catalogue number is also given to the event poster, which was designed by Peter Saville.
