Jon Hopkins, British musician, producer and composer, is hailed as one of the most innovative artists of his generation. With critically acclaimed albums such as "Insides" (2009), "Immunity" (2013) - which won the Mercury Prize - "Singularity" (2018), and "Music For Psychedelic Therapy" (2021), Hopkins has created a unique sonic universe, blending captivating electronic rhythms with enchanting melodies. In addition to his solo work, he has collaborated with renowned artists like Brian Eno and Coldplay, and has composed music for several films and television series. At once spiritual, liberating and fundamental, RITUAL, Jon Hopkins' new album, is a 41-minute ceremonial epic built from deep bass, hypnotic percussion and transcendental melodic interactions. Poignant, immersive and ultimately jubilant, it is the culmination of themes explored throughout his 22-year career. Featuring contributions from long-time collaborators such as Vylana, 7RAYS, Ishq, Clark, Emma Smith, Daisy Vatalaro and Cherif Hashizume, RITUAL took shape during the second half of 2023. Its foundations were laid as early as 2022, when Jon Hopkins was commissioned to compose for the Dreamachine in London, an immersive experience created by Collective Act, in collaboration with a team of artists, scientists and philosophers. From the outset, this project had a ceremonial dimension that was, unconsciously, the embryo of RITUAL. RITUAL combines emotional and sonic intensity, while preserving a warm and dynamic atmosphere, where the balance between gentleness and power constitutes the very essence of the work.
