Wick Records is proud to reissue two tracks from legendary Ohio band Johnny's Uncalled Four for the first time in 55 years on 45rpm vinyl. The A-side, "Please Say," was originally released as a small pressing on Magic Label, the band's own label, and has since been reissued on several CD compilations (PsychedelicStates, Teenage Rebellion...). The track was recorded at the famous Gateway Recordings in Pittsburgh, and was written by singer John Golden - and if his name sounds familiar, it's because he's John Golden of the renowned Golden Mastering. This track is an alloy of moody, angst-ridden rock, with a youthful fervor, ahead of the 1966 garage rock explosion. The B-side, "Daydream," originally released as the B-side to their incredibly rare debut single on the obscure WAM Records label (Youngstown, OH), is a sublime instrumental ballad whose beautiful guitar melodies will take you back to the carefree summers of adolescence. At a time when every American garage was making noise, Johnny's Uncalled Four, thanks to their talent, managed to transcend their neighborhood dwellings and cross time so that in 2020 a new generation of enraged rock 'n' roll fans can devour them. The record is a must for fans of Nuggets, Back From The Grave, Pebbles or Teenage Shutdown.
