Johnny Mathis is an American singer born on September 30, 1935 in New York. He is one of the best-selling artists of the 20th century. Starting his career with standard music singles, Mathis became very popular as an album artist, with several of his albums reaching gold or platinum status and 73 reaching the Billboard charts. Mathis received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame for the single "It's Not For Me To Say".
