Johnny Iguana has played on albums alongside Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and James Cotton. In 2020, he released his debut album on Delmark, the critically acclaimed, kaleidoscopic *Johnny Iguana’s Chicago Spectacular!* a full band experience. This audacious new opus, *Johnny Iguana: At Delmark*, is the antithesis of the last record: it is a solo acoustic album, performed on a 1917 Steinway B piano owned by Delmark. *Johnny Iguana: At Delmark* follows in the tradition of the venerable label’s solo piano albums and was recorded in single takes, without editing, directly to analog tape. Junior Wells, who recorded with Johnny’s hero Otis Spann on Delmark’s classic *Southside Blues Jam* and brought Johnny from New York to Chicago to join the Junior Wells Blues Band in 1994, would have been thrilled with this record.
