Disclosure Day

Description

Waxwork Records, in partnership with Back Lot Music, presents the original soundtrack of the film DISCLOSURE DAY, composed by the legendary John Williams, five-time Oscar winner. What if you discovered that we are not alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would it scare you? This summer, the truth belongs to eight billion people. Today, it is... Revelation Day. To compose the music for DISCLOSURE DAY, Steven Spielberg turned to his friend and longtime collaborator, John Williams. Nominated 54 times for Oscars and winner of five statuettes (Fiddler on the Roof, Jaws, Star Wars, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Schindler's List), Williams also composed the music for Close Encounters of the Third Kind, a Spielberg film, famous for its iconic five-note tonal phrase used to communicate with extraterrestrials. The soundtrack of Disclosure Day marks the 30th film collaboration between Spielberg and Williams. "Can you believe this is our 30th film together?" exclaims Spielberg. "John just turned 94 and he is still as exceptional as he was at 40. The depth and breadth of his career are simply remarkable. The score for DISCLOSURE DAY is probably the most understated he has ever composed for one of our collaborations - at least until it is no longer so. But until then, he holds back in a subtle and beautiful way that enriches the experience. It's as if he is accompanying the film from the background, propelling it forward. Composing the music is generally the last step of our work and I always say it is the reward at the end of a film: listening to a new score by John Williams." In over six decades of career, John Williams has become one of the most accomplished and recognized American composers, both for film and stage, and he remains one of the most prominent and influential musical voices in our country. He has composed and conducted music for more than a hundred films, including the nine Star Wars films, the first three Harry Potter films, Superman, JFK, Born on the Fourth of July, and Memoirs of a Geisha, Far and Away, The Accidental Tourist, Home Alone!, and The Book Thief. His artistic collaboration of over fifty years with director Steven Spielberg has given birth to many of Hollywood's most acclaimed and successful films, including Schindler's List, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the Indiana Jones films, Munich, Saving Private Ryan, The Adventures of Tintin, War Horse, Lincoln, The BFG, The Pentagon Papers, The Fabelmans, and Disclosure Day. Waxwork Records presents the original soundtrack of the film Disclosure Day composed by John Williams in a deluxe double vinyl box set including the complete 16-track album, a "Blue Iris" colored vinyl, a thick gatefold jacket with matte UV varnish, printed inner sleeves, and exclusive liner notes from Steven Spielberg. Also available on CD.
