Description

A founding member of Barclay James Harvest, John Lees has kept the legend alive since 1999. In 1998, due to musical differences, the members of Barclay James Harvest agreed to take a sabbatical. John Lees & Wolstenholme formed "Barclay James Harvest Through The Eyes of John Lees", which later became John Lees' Barclay James Harvest. This spin-off of Barclay James Harvest consists of John Lees, bassist Craig Fletcher, drummer Kevin Whitehead, and keyboardist Jez Smith. The band originally included "Woolly" Stuart Wolstenholme on keyboards before his death in December 2010. The group formed in 1999 to record the album "Nexus". Craig Fletcher and Kevin Whitehead were from Wolly Wolstenholme's band "Maestoso", while John and Wolly were original members of BJH. The band toured the UK and Europe in 2006 and recorded the live album "Legacy" at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in London. Since then, the band has played venues in the UK, but more often in the rest of Europe where they have found success. The band toured the UK again in 2009. They played at the Berlin Festival on the anniversary of the fall of the Wall at the Brandenburg Gate, to an audience of 17,500 people, and more recently in Porto, Portugal, with an attendance of 5,000 people. The band has also played in America. This new album "North" will be accompanied by a European tour.
