In partnership with Independent Film Company, Waxwork Records is proud to announce the release of the original soundtrack for the film THE PLAGUE, composed and performed by Johan Lenox. Premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and met with an eleven-minute standing ovation, The Plague has generated significant critical interest. Set at a boys' water polo camp, the film follows a twelve-year-old teenager suffering from social anxiety who finds himself trapped in a cruel tradition targeting an outcast, as the line between ritual and reality blurs. Johan Lenox's original score underscores the film's tense and savage atmosphere through an organic sonic palette blending percussion, solo strings, and dense, layered vocals. It reflects the story's growing unease, oscillating between vulnerability and an omnipresent threat. In the exclusive liner notes accompanying the soundtrack, Lenox reflects on his instant connection to the project: "After dodging questions for years about my first film score, I finally found the perfect project with Charlie Polinger's La Peste. Johan Lenox is a singer, composer, and music producer whose work spans the worlds of classical music, film, and musical theater. He also pursues a solo career and collaborates with rappers and pop stars. Many of his projects are guided by his passion for introducing classical music to a wider audience. True to its commitment to high-quality physical editions, Waxwork Records presents the soundtrack for The Plague on a "Pool Water Blue" vinyl, housed in a thick jacket with a matte satin finish.
