He recalls that back then \"the coolest guitar solos tried to create a kind of new wave vibe\".\nTo match the sonic atmosphere of that era, he even used an old MXR EVH phaser. \"I've always been a huge fan of Eddie Van Halen,\" says Joe Satriani, \"For me he simply crystallized that era, the late 70s, the early 80s.
