A lifelong adventurer in live music, Joachim Kühn has always made the trio the small laboratory of his powerfully syncretic music. To celebrate his 80th birthday, this authentic legend of European jazz has chosen to once again "put himself in the game" at the helm of a new formation, composed of two of the most creative musicians of the young French scene – bassist Thibault Cellier (notably recognized within the company Les Musiques à ouïr and the group Novembre) and drummer Sylvain Darrifourcq (a decisive partner of Emile Parisien, Roberto Negro, and Valentin Ceccaldi). Driven by the audacity of a rhythm section that is both organic and deconstructivist, Joachim Kühn, opening his universe to otherness, intends to once again revitalize the flamboyant lyricism of his inimitable style.
