Jewel Usain unveils a masterful debut album, featuring Prince Waly, Tuerie & Béesau. Having transitioned from shoe salesman to rapper 2 years ago, the artist shines through his talent, emotion, and excellence.
With "Où les garçons grandissent," Jewel Usain reaches a new stage in his career.
After several projects, this first studio album illustrates apparent wisdom and presents Jewel as an established and accomplished artist. In a much more musical and organic project, his meticulous writing, incisive flow, and ever-precise diction combine with more serious themes than before. All while maintaining the same lyrical depth and creative madness.
To accompany him on this album, the rapper enlisted the talented composer and trumpeter Beesau. Jewel's rap universe subtly integrates into a very refined American jazzy atmosphere.
This project is also an opportunity to find the artist featuring with his colleague Prince Waly on the track "Éléonore," as well as Tuerie on "New Slave." On the visual side, his long-time collaborator Kidhao is still at the helm. An experienced director, their chemistry will allow Jewel to reach a higher level visually as well.
These 17 tracks represent the culmination of a decade of music and artistic experimentation for Jewel Usain, naturally sparking great pride in him, now just a few months before the album's release.
