The masterful storytelling of this album, accompanied by Ian Anderson's incomparable flute melodies, has been critically acclaimed and has become a fan favorite over the years. The album blends the electronic sound, provided by Peter-John Vettese (a feature that would be explored further on the next album Under Wraps) with acoustic instruments. The Broadsword and the Beast is a crossover between the synthesizer sound of the 1980s and Tull's folk-influenced style of the previous decade.This CD contains 17 tracks including Steven Wilson remixes of the original album, associated recordings and a 28-page booklet.
