"On 3CD, 50 tracks selected by Ian Anderson, from the 21 albums of the band. The band Jethro Tull gave its first concert at the Marquee Club in London on February 2, 1968. This date marks the beginning of its musical epic, which led it to become one of the most famous bands in Progressive Rock. This compilation '50 FOR 50' restores all the diversity of the Jethro Tull catalog. With its tracklisting arranged chronologically, it reflects the musical evolution of the band, starting with tracks tinged with blues ("Beggar's Farm", "A New Day Yesterday"), followed by heavier ones ("Aqualung", "Locomotive Breath") before addressing 'Prog Classic' ("Skating Away", "Critique Oblique") and folk ("Songs From The Wood", "Heavy Horses."). '50 FOR 50' also offers the tracks "Steel Monkey," "Farm On The Freeway" and "Budapest" - three songs from their album 'Crest Of A Knave' (1987), which earned them a Grammy® Award. "A Christmas Song" and "Ring Out Solstice Bells", previously released on 'The Jethro Tull Christmas Album' (2003) punctuate this compilation."
